Pageant of Ghosts Past and Present, 1

Pageant of Ghosts Past and Present, 1
Original silkscreen with hand-altered stencil, 8.5 x 11 in, signed, 2022. This print is one-of-a-kind. I revisited the silkscreen and stencil, in different combinations, but each print is unique.
Please note, print prices are set according to number of copies in a print run in addition to size. A unique print is priced higher than an edition of 100, for example.
While at an art residency in Chautauqua, NY, I searched the digital archives for indigenous history of the area. I found very little. But I did find one image from Chautauqua Institution, that showed former residents posing as Native Americans in a so-called historical “pageant” staged to depict European settlers meeting Indigenous people. I created a silkscreen of the pageant photo (shown on second slide) and added my own stenciled figure over it.
